You must represent your school and community but also be sensitive to and tolerant of schools and communities that are not like yours -- a big challenge and responsibility! We are unable to provide copies of recommended books to committee members. Committee members must be willing to use inter-library loan to obtain books on the reading lists. Committee members also must agree to attend a meeting on a Saturday in early February on the UGA campus. Being a member of a selection committee is a lot of hard work -- but it is also a lot of fun for those who truly love and understand children's literature. If you would like to volunteer to serve on either the Picture Storybook Award or Book Award committee, please provide the following information and click the "SUBMIT" button. It is very important that you provide an e-mail address as the selection committees use listserves for much of their work. The deadline to apply to serve on a committee for 2012-2013 is April 30, 2012.
